WordPress has an iPhone app!

Well, once again I have been pleasently surprised by the amazing apps that people have developed for the iPhone and are willing to give away for free.

Today I searched for “WordPress” and of course, they have one and it’s free! I can link to multiple blogs, create posts and save them as drafts pro can immediately post them. I can attach photos I have taken or I can take one within the app to include with a post (though it crashed the first time I tried to do that). One of my favorite features is the ability to do almost anything within the app in landscape mode, something that won’t seem so amazing when OS 3.0 comes out.

Some features I would like to see include:

• Built in spell checking. The iPhone’s built in ability to do this is severely limited.
• Image editing. Sometimes you need to crop out the unimportant, especially if subscribers are primarily using mobile devices.
• Formatting. Currently only plain text is allowed when composing posts.

All in all I’d rate WordPress mobile 4 out of 5 thumbs up. It works great for attaching photos and short posts but gives you the tools to make longer posts as painless as possible. By the way, I created this entire post using the app!

Welcome.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved to share knowledge with others.  Lately I’ve been attempting to do so with Twitter in small, 140 character chunks, something I would compare to cramming five large people into a Geo Metro; it can be done but it won’t be pretty.  So, I decided to create my own blog, allowing me the freedom to write as much as I want (think stretch limo), which I can then link to within Twitter, giving me the best of both worlds.  I hope you enjoy!

P.S.: Let me know how I’m doing.  I really want to pass on any helpful tips and how am I supposed to know what is helpful if I don’t get any feedback?
